"Unchained" - an endless collection of dogs sculptures. Each one has its own unique enchanting body language and facial expression, and a different virtuosic use of the raw material.

{A personal note}

While having our conversation Nirit's calm vibes and her stories have stunned me to the chair. She is the impossible combination between passion and meditation, between pure and dirt, and between a white gown and a bicycle chain full of grease.

מי: האמנית נירית לבב. מקצוע ישן: מעצבת שמלות כלה. דפוס חשיבה ישן, שלקחה מהבית: שום דבר לא נזרק וכל דבר יכול לשמש למשהו אחר. משהו ישן: שרשראות אופניים ממוחזרות. משהו חדש: אוסף פסלים אין סופי של כלבים. לכל אחד מהם יש שפת גוף והבעת פנים ייחודית, ובכל אחד נעשה שימוש וירטואוזי אחר בשרשראות האופניים. בנימה אישית: בזמן הפגישה, האנרגיה המרגיעה של נירית וסיפוריה ריתקו אותי לכסא. היא השילוב הבלתי אפשרי של תשוקה ומדיטציה, של טוהר ולכלוך, ושל שמלת כלה לבנה ושרשרת אופניים מלאה בגריז.

Tel Aviv New Central Station. A combination of art street, Filipinos church and a mall. Sitting in their studio on the fifth floor I could feel the earth moves under my knees. (each time a bus was arriving), and walking in the hall I could feel a freak is going to jump on me any minute.

{Old thing}

Rustic nails, reclaimed wood, pictures, torn sofas, broken chairs, unused plastic toys, trunks, branches, lamps… Everything you can grab from the street and bring to the studio.

{Upcycled thing}

Artistic and functional furniture and light fixtures. Sfog studio is like a lab which is taking all dead elements which have found in the streets and is giving them a new chance. Artists Gidi and Yotam will be glad to take your old pieces (the ones that go along in your family and you can't throw them away) and to give them new meaning - second life.

מי: גידי גילעם ויותם שיפרוני - סטודיו ספוג. איפה: התחנה המרכזית החדשה בתל אביב. כשאומנות רחוב נפגשת עם כנסיה של פיליפיניות. כשישבתי אצל ספוג בסטודיו בקומה החמישית הרגשתי את הרצפה רועדת (בכל פעם שאוטובוס עבר בסביבה), וכשהסתובבתי במסדרון היה נדמה לי שבכל רגע דמות מפלצתית תנחת לי על הכתף. משהו ישן: מסמרים חלודים, שאריות עץ, גזעים, ענפים, כסאות שבורים, ספות קרועות וצעצועי פלסטיק חסרי שימוש. בקיצור כל מה שהצלחתם לאסוף בשתי הידיים שלכם ולהביא לסטודיו. משהו ממוחדש: רהיטים ומנורות אומנותיים ופונקציונליים. סטודיו ספוג הוא כמו מעבדה שלוקחת אלמנטים ישנים שנמצאו ברחובות ונותנת להם סיכוי נוסף. צמד האמנים גידי ויותם ישמחו לקחת חפצי ערך ישנים (אלה שעוברים אצלכם במשפחה וקשה לכם להפרד מהם), ולתת להם משמעות חדשה - חיים שניים. סרטים שהולכים טוב עם הפוסט הזה: פרנקנשטיין (1931), פרנקנשטיין הצעיר (מל ברוקס), מופע הקולנוע של רוקי ובאופן כללי  כל סרט ערפדי עם אלמנטים גותיים.

{An old thing}

Tires - collected pedantry by their texture from recycled tires factory.

{A wild and upcycled thing}

A horse swing. There are dears too, and birds are coming up.

{The first horse}

Li-Ron's desire for tires swings is probably a combination of her art studies in Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, and her former job as an instructor in summer camps in the states, where tires swings are very common. It has taken her more than 10 years till she decided to do it by herself and 12 tires more, (trials) until she came up with her first model of a horse swing. Like a good old wine the waiting was worthy. She managed to cut the material in a perfect and virtuosic way that reuses 90% of the tire (and 100% in the case of the deer's model) 

{A thing to tell your daughter}

It's a hard work to cut tires, you can start with a Stanley knife but eventually you will need also a disc and a saw. Li-Ron likes it. She likes the hard hands work, and she also does the handy work at home as well. She speaks about tool box like a girl speaks about a barbie house, and her spouse is really enjoying his handy woman and bragging this fact to all of his friends.

{A thing to tell her grandchildren}

Li-Ron had met her spouse in her first summer camp, which was in Atlanta Georgia 12 years ago.

מי: לי-רון פז, אמנית. משהו ישן: צמיגים ישנים שנאספו ממפעל למיחזור צמיגים. ממוחדש ופרוע: נדנדת סוס (יש גם צבאים ובקרוב ציפורים). הסוס הראשון: לירון בוגרת בצלאל, היתה בעברה מדריכה במחנות קיץ בארצות הברית שם פגשה לראשונה נדנדות מצמיגים, עברו יותר מעשר שנים, עד שהחליטה לעשות זאת בעצמה ועוד 12 צמיגים חתוכים (נסיונות) עד שגיבשה בתבונה ובוירטואוזיות את דגם סוס הנדנדה הראשון שלה. משהו לספר לבת שלכם: לירון עושה את כל עבודות האחזקה בבית ומדברת על קופסת כלי עבודה כמו שילדה בת 4 מדברת על בית בובות הברבי שלה. משהו לספר לנכדים שלה: לירון הכירה את דדי, בן זוגה במחנה קיץ באטלנטה, ג'ורג'יה לפני 12 שנים.
